3. Pre-programmed TRANSIT & New Item numbers by interface for TRANSIT Ultimate
Previously, when ordering a TRANSIT Ultimate, customers had to specify which interface, firmware, and programming they needed (customer code). We found that most customers use a standard interface, and custom programming is not always needed. This led to confusion and made the order process more difficult for customers. To solve this, we did two things:
-
We introduced a pre-programmed version of the TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader with a standard interface, firmware, and programming.
- This version works well for new installations, and you can also use it in existing systems by adding the programming from the current installation using the TRANSIT configuration tool. Both programming types are then read by the TRANSIT Ultimate Reader. The following article is available from 2025:
-
TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader - Preprogrammed (9229203)
- Interface: RS232/HID
- Programming: GF227
- Firmware: P81
- When ordering matching tags, such as TRANSIT Compact Button – Preprogrammed (9567879), you will receive the next available numbering.
- Preprogrammed tags have much shorter delivery times than custom programmed tags and readers.
-
The individual TRANSIT interfaces are now linked by default to the TRANSIT Ultimate and each interface has its own article number. However, programming must still be specified at the time of purchase for these versions. The following articles have been introduced:
- TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader - Custom Programming RS232/HID - (9229206)
- TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader - Custom Programming RS422/485 - (9229210)
- TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader - Custom Programming OSDP - (9229213)
- TRANSIT Ultimate Long-range RFID Reader - Custom Programming TCP/IP - (9229216)
Note: Wiegand is standard included on all TRANSIT readers. See the datasheet for more details on interfaces.
Customer code/programming always starts with two letters (GF, CF, or DF) followed by three digits (000). The pre-programmed option uses GF227.
Adding pre-programmed to existing installations using the TRANSIT Configuration Tool
It is possible to add pre-programmed readers and tags to existing installations that have different programming. The existing and new reader must then be configured to read multiple programming. This can be done using the TRANSIT Configuration tool. This must be done on site at the TRANSIT.
Extensions at existing plants
- Extensions with Pre-programmed: Would you like to take advantage of all the benefits offered by pre-programmed items when expanding existing installations? Use the TRANSIT configuration tool to make the readers compatible with both existing and new (pre-programmed) programming (customer code).
-
Extensions with custom programming: Please note, if you want to extend an existing installation with preprogrammed items this requires additional configuration of the readers.
- Does the end user want to extend the installation in the existing configuration? Then request the configuration (programming) and choose the 'custom programming' items. When ordering, we need to know what programming (customer code) to include.
